Can you say cute?!!! How about action-packed? These brothers had the most amazing eyes - each different but both just breathtaking. Loved spending time with this family! Mom - you can certainly get a workout keeping up with two boys.
Thanks for letting me share the morning with you all!

Mama's Poncho

I took my favorite girl for a solo photosession this morning - I wanted to capture her, happy in her new tights and wearing a poncho that was mine when I was little. I may be a little biased, but I think she's the most beautiful girl in the world!

She got a little spunky after the ice cream - it was hard to keep up, AND practice my manual settings as the light kept changing. But I just love how happy she was!

What to Wear

This weekend I got to drive down to Newport News for an education conference. It was a glorious few hours alone in my car, listening to my books on CD, taking in a sight I fall in love with each year - the colors of the changing leaves. I loved shooting outside in the summer and I'm so excited about it in the fall, especially when I see outfits like this that a photographer friend, Stephanie Doran, came up with as an idea! (Click on the photo to find out "where to buy" if you see something you like!)
Very Berry Family
This is a great example of how you can coordinate without having to look too formal or overdone - complementary pops of color. Of course, mom - if you buy that cardigan, don't be too surprised if you show up to the shoot and I'm wearing it too - this just makes me want to go shopping, photoshoot or not! :)
I loved this polyvore site so much, I had to design my own outfit! Look for more photoshoot outfit ideas to come!

And here's another idea - I really just want to go shopping now! :)

This little lady slept happily through most of our session - tradeoff for keeping mom and dad up much of the night before!

In fact, we tried to wake her gently at the end to grab a few more eyes-open shots, and she ignored us like a champ!

If dad ever needs extra work as a photography assistant, he's a natural at thinking of poses. I turned my back for 15 seconds and he had the babe all set up for this shot!
I also want to hire grandma who makes blankies and hats that rival the best of those I've seen! I can't even tell you how cute the 2 pair of booties were that grandma made (I'm kicking myself for not snapping a shot) - but this girl is just like me - hoping for unencumbered piggies as late into the season as possible! She kicked those beautiful works of art off her feet faster than dad could put them on!
Is this a gorgeous family, or what?!

Another Girlie Girl

I love to work in the little "special somethings" that incorporate significant objects into the scene. A special blanket comes up frequently - as it did in this photoshoot. But boy was I surprised when they asked if we could work in a pineapple! Well we got both in one shot. :)

This little girl already has both mom and dad quite wrapped around their little fingers, but it's easy to see why. She loved being swaddled, so getting to sleepy time took patience and we got some good eyes open shots.

But when you're 10 days old, it's impossible to stay awake forever... Sweet dreams, Little E!

Kisses All Around!

Spending time with this family was so fun. Big Brother S is just a pup himself. Baby T is in for so many kisses as she grows up. Hopefully she doesn't have an aversion to flapper hats in her future - it looks so adorable on her, but she may associate it with a large sloppy dog tongue since S was trying to steal it off her head - maybe he thought it would go well with his Red Sox collar?
Mom and Dad said that being new parents was as they expected - Hard - but they were making it look like a breeze even with very little sleep. You could feel so much love and excitement for their new family and the memories they knew they would build together. Such a privilege to be able to spend the time with them and document one of their first days.

And Baby Makes Five...

Even though my dog gave me a good nosedown when I came home, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this growing family. The two canine babies are about to become big siblings to a little girl on the way. I can tell this girlie won't be lacking for outfits - I got a glimpse of mom's closet and it was beyond my wildest dreams! How cute are these two?

And these two?

And mom-to-be is just cute as can be.
Can't wait to go back for the newborn session in a few weeks!

One Year Old!

Seems like I just did newborn photos for this little cutie pie. He loved walking around the park, getting into the dirt and picking up sticks and stones. All Boy!

Little H Man

He's two now and on the go! Here he is at his first photoshoot -

And now he's a man of action - an explorer with curly blond locks -

Vintage, Anyone?

I finally tried out doing some vintage looks on a few photos - so much fun! It's hard to say which I like better since I loved the color pop on the bright and sunny day we took these - but I love the vintage with texture too! It's always good to have options! :)

Fun in the Sun

What a fun morning with this adorable family! Mr. E wasn't so sure about being photographed at first, but he definitely warmed up, especially when I brought up CARS! He even wanted to come home with me at the end because he loved my cool station wagon - lol! :)

Miss K wan't too keen sitting anywhere other than Mommy's lap - probably because she didnt' want to mess up the gorgeous dresses she was wearing!

While it wasn't quite as hot as the rest of this record-breaking DC summer, it was still toasty - but these little ones were troopers and we captured some priceless smiles and other expressions.
Hope you enjoy your preview!

It was so good to get away for a few days to the lake! There was so much for kids to do! E made a hole-in-one on his very first round of mini golf. T was quite the little fish at the beach and loved getting up early each day to walk the three pups.
